Actress Perrette Souplex (b.1930) is the daughter of the actor and chansonnier Raymond Souplex. She studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique. In the 1960s she was part of the trio Les Filles à papa formed with Suzanne Gabriello (daughter of André Gabriello) and Françoise Dorin (daughter of René Dorin). She appeared on TV, on stage and in the cinema, a career that spanned 70 years. She played the lead role in the 1950 film Zone Frontière, directed by Jean Gourguet.

SCENARIO SUMMARY
Following a fight between smugglers and customs officers, Verkouter, a small mechanic from the suburbs of Lille, was sentenced to 1 year in prison.
Marcelle, his wife, must then work in a factory.
The little ones, Lucienne (17 years old, daughter from the father’s first marriage) and Zizi (6 years old) are often alone. The eldest, despite the resistance of her younger sister, manages to drag her into the picturesque milieu of young fraudsters in the Lille area.
Lucienne finds her boyfriend Paulo (18), a student more concerned about the black market than studies. Thanks to him, the traffic of the Dondaines gang expands and prospers. We follow their curious and pungent adventures on the Belgian border.
But these misguided kids know how to unite in a spirit of solidarity. They pick up and hide a little maid, Ginette (16), an unhappy classmate who is wrongly accused of having knocked her boss out in order to rob him. It is for these kids the beginning of a series of unforeseen events which come to put their good will and their courage to the test.
To try to get their friends out of a bad patch, Lucienne and Zizi decide to ask for help from Max, a rather shady character. They then discover that their mother sees this one without their knowledge. This discovery pits Lucienne against her stepmother. Marcelle then breaks off all relations with Max, but Lucienne, increasingly emancipated and hostile, escapes him completely. Trained in turn by Max, Lucienne abandons Paulo and Zizi and his comrades from Dondaines, when they find themselves in an increasingly critical situation because of Ginette.
When Verkouter returns from prison, he does not take long to learn what has happened during his absence. His severity pushes Lucienne to leave the house. She is surprised while running away with Max. After dramatic events Verkouter will manage to bring some peace to his home. But, while little Zizi will be ready to forget this troubled year, Lucienne will remain deeply marked.
