Pierre-Jean Vaillard was a chansonnier, humourist, songwriter, writer, and author of aphorisms. He was the headliner of the Théâtre des Deux Anes for more than thirty years, which is also located at this address. As an actor he was multidisciplinary, playing roles in the cinema, theatre and radio. He was a lead actors in the 1960 French thriller Colère Froide, directed by André Haguet and Jean-Paul Sassy.

CATHERINE spent an intimate evening with a young adventurer Christian LAMBERT. She told her husband ALEX that she was at the cabaret: “Frénétic’s”. However, that evening, the cabaret was the scene of a settling of scores. This easily discovered false “alibi” tortures the husband because he adores his wife. A journalist, he is called to the scene of the fight by his friend Inspector ROLAND. Very quickly, another drama broke out, CATHE-RINE, learning from an anonymous letter that Christian LAMBERT was going to abandon her, ran home. A terrible scene takes place. Later, we find LAMBERT murdered. ALEX seems lost!… Successive proofs show him that his wife CATHERINE is the murderer! Everything accuses him! The gun hidden in his closet, his little handkerchiefs, the marks on his shoes… And that’s the horrible explanation between ALEX and CA-THERINE: he knows everything! She has to run away… She is going to be arrested… The next morning, at the police station, ALEX, pitiful, comes to confess “the truth” to his friend ROLAND: CATHERINE has left, wanting to set boundaries between her and the French police. But ROLAND takes the floor and, by striking images, re-establishes the facts: it is not she who killed; all the proofs have been accumulated against her out of revenge, and the dry, indisputable demonstrations will confuse the real culprit a little later. This will be tracked. Seeking to drag CATHE-RINE into death, he falls from the top of a terrace and comes crashing down on the steps of the villa. CATHERINE saved, will find the hope to live.
