Alban Low
I’m an artist, radio presenter and keen amateur historian who has worked in and around the music industry for 20 years. I saw my first Guide du Show Business when my friends Tanya and Pete found a copy on a table of discarded books outside a church in Cambieure (South of France). Since then I have found similar directories in England and the USA. The books open up new worlds for me, of new music, musicians and the places where they lived.

2024 (19th / 20th arrondissement)
2023 (18th arrondissement)
In my first year I stayed in the Goutte D’or area of Paris, deep in the 18th arrondissement. In a sixth floor apartment at 9 Rue Suez, a pig’s trotter away from the butchers in Rue Dejean. I was lucky to have several visitors, including my family (Natalie and Effie + Issy) and friends (Bill Mudge, Paul Newcombe, Kate Cox and Mark Ramsden). I spent 30 days in Paris, completed 28 walks and films, and created 28 drawings. The trip was funded from an inheritance generously bequeathed to me by Joan Aye Maung (my mother-in-law), and Alice Frost (my aunt).

Thank you to
Tanya Kreisky and Pete Parnell , Debbie Crisp, Kate Cox and Mark Ramsden, Sylvain (my Goutte D’Or host), Bill Mudge, Paul Newcombe, Natalie Low, Jack Low, Effie Aye-Maung-Hider, Issy Dougan, Joan Aye Maung, Alice Frost.
