Marcel Cariven (CHEFS D’ORCHESTRES)

Light music specialist Marcel Cariven was a long time conductor of the Orchestre de la Radiodiffusion-télévision française (ORTF). In the 1930s he was appointed conductor of the Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens and conducted classical concerts with the Radio-Paris Orchestra. After WW2 he made his debut at the Opéra-Comique but it was his work with the ORTF Orchestra that he will be best remembered. Throughout his career he was the musical director on several films including the 1952 spy movie Les loups chassent la nuit.

Dominique Blondeau – COMEDIENS

Actor Dominique Blondeau made his debut aged just 13 years old in the 1960 film Les Regates De San Francisco. He worked steadily throughout the 60s but didn’t developed a career beyond young adult roles. His two long-running TV roles were both in 1965, first playing Roman Ricaud in Seule à Paris, and then Jean in the Alpine adventures series Belle and Sebastian.

Richard Duquesnoy (DANSEURS)

Richard Duquesnoy was a member of the Paris Opera Ballet, and like fellow dancers Michaël Denard, Jacques Garnier, and Martine Clary he chose the 12th arrondissement as his home. Duquesnoy took a similar route to many Paris Opera dancers by joining Jacques Garnier at the Théâtre du Silence, the dance company Garnier formed in 1970 with Brigitte Lefèvre. It allowed many young talents to express themselves, including Duquesnoy, who was able to showcase his choreography skills.

Julien Giovanetti (ARTISTES LYRIQUES)

A specialist in Mozart and performer of numerous operas throughout the world, Julien Giovannetti was a bass-baritone at the Opéra-Comique, Paris. Originally from Bône in Algeria, Giovanetti played for the local football team AS Bône in his youth (they competed in the French amateur championship in 1959-1960 and 1961-1962).

Jean Rossi – Contrebasse

Jean Rossi was the second principal double bass of the Orchestre National de France, the symphony orchestra who performs mainly in the Grand Auditorium at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique. He played bass on the soundtrack to the 1963 film Shéhérazade starring Anna Karina and Gérard Barray.

Laura Sheleen (DANSEUSES)

A leading figure in dance, art therapy and psychomotor skills, American choreographer and dancer Laura Sheleen studied dance in New York City before moving to Europe in 1955. After touring her methods in Finland, Sweden, England, Czechoslovakia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and Germany, she settled in France, where she collaborated with the French Sociometry Group. Sheleen was a pioneer of body therapy and the founder of a unique method based on theatrical techniques, movement, and psychodrama: Mythodrama.

Raoul Ambiehl – Batterie

In the 1960s Raoul Ambiehl worked as both a drummer and actor. He played an inspector in the 1964 TV drama Les Oranges, and later appeared in the perennially popular TV series Les cinq dernières minutes in the 1980s.
